Materials & care

Rinse under a tap — smooth plastic, so crumbs and marks come off with water.

THE PROBLEM

The cutlery drawer never fits the tray you bought.

Standard organisers are made to one size, and kitchen drawers aren't. So you buy one, get it home, and it's either 4 cm too wide to close or it rattles around with a gap down one side that fills with crumbs. Meanwhile the spatulas and the whisk don't fit in any compartment, so they end up loose on top, and you're back to digging through a pile to find a teaspoon.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps, one drawer

STEP 1

Measure your drawer.

Inside width and depth. Anywhere between 33 and 56 cm wide will work.

STEP 2

Slide it out to fit.

The buckles release and the tray expands on all four sides. Set it, then push it into the drawer.

STEP 3

Load it up.

Cutlery in the narrow slots, knives and long utensils in the wide ones. The silicone feet stop it sliding when the drawer opens.

Before you buy

How do I know it'll fit my drawer?

Measure the inside of your drawer before ordering — width, depth and height. It works in anything from 33 cm to 56 cm wide and 36.8 to 48 cm deep, and it's 5 cm tall. If your drawer is narrower than 33 cm it won't fit even closed, so the measurement is worth doing first.

Will it slide around when I open the drawer?

It shouldn't — there are silicone feet on the base that grip the drawer bottom. If your drawer lining is particularly slick, the tray may still shift on a hard pull.

Can I use it for something other than kitchen cutlery?

Yes. The same compartments work for stationery in a desk drawer, makeup and brushes, or small tools. It's a divided tray — the kitchen is just the most common use.
